Brian's Biography:
Born in N.Ireland (but of good Scots descent!), I was educated at Belfast Royal Academy before entering a career in catering – the highlight of which was two years on the ss Oriana, that allowed me to sail around the world and see many places that I would not, otherwise, have seen. I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour and Lord just a few days before my 15th birthday – although I doubt that I fully understood, at that time, the implications of making such a commitment! A call to “full-time” service at 22 years of age, led me to The Bible Training Institute, Glasgow, where I completed the 2-year Diploma course. It was during this time that my calling was clarified as being to the home mission-field and, after further study at The University of Glasgow, I was ordained to the ministry in The Church of Scotland (Presbyterian). A doctrinal disagreement later led to my becoming a teacher of Religious and Moral Education, and History and, with one break, I taught until August, 2009. On Sept 4th, 1970, in St George’s-Tron Parish Church, Glasgow, by Rev George B. Duncan M.A., I was married to Joyce, and we have two wonderful daughters, both of whom we love dearly.
